(English/中文) Emergency Child Care First Aid CPR-B/AED

This one day Canadian Red Cross First Aid course is designed for day care and child care workers who care for infants or children in the workplace or at home and will introduce you to injury prevention skills and knowledge. This course is highly recommended for parents, caregivers, childcare/daycare workers and students of early childhood education.

The course material covers First Aid and CPR skills essential for childhood injuries and emergencies. More specifically, students will learn lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR Level B and AED) for children, and babies.

This course meets legislative requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements. (Blended course is not available.)

• Check, Call, Care – including shock & recovery position
• Airway Emergencies – including Conscious & Unconscious choking
• Breathing and Circulation Emergencies including Allergies, Asthma, Hyperventilation, Heart attack, Stroke & Severe bleeding
• Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest-including CPR-B and AED for infants and children
• Wound Care – including various minor injuries, impaled object, amputation, penetrating chest injury & burns
• Head and Spine Injuries
• Bone, Muscle, and Joint Injuries – including Strain, Sprain, Dislocation & Fracture
• Sudden Medical Emergencies- including Diabetes, Seizure, Fainting
• Environmental Emergencies – including Frostbite, Hypothermia, Heat stroke
  Poisons – including Lyme disease
